We are The Bee Shack, where it’s all about bluegrass, barbecue, and most of all these lovely little ladies who work so hard to make beautiful golden honey. It’s our passion not only to marvel at their hard work, but to learn about them and share what we are learning. We all depend on them, you know.
Located in Mantua, Ohio, The Bee Shack is proud to produce raw, simple, and wholesome local honey. We hope to soon have the means to sell the bees themselves and their boxes, so you too can enjoy the benefits of raw honey and the good company of thousands of new little friends!

Dana (Ding) and Barb are the founders of The Bee Shack. Dana is a welder and bluegrass player who loves a good barbecue, and healthy sparing of witty repartee, normally with Barb. Barb’s master touch with plants and flowers create a dreamy landscape that the bees can’t get enough of.

David and his wife, Valerie are bluegrass playing sweethearts who have since settled down from their life on the road in Mantua where David now works in the wood shop to create the homes for our bees. David is a retired machinist who also enjoys being outside.
Daina (Jr.)
Makes look nice
Daina is Dana’s daughter. She, like most millennial “kids”, does the “computer stuff” for The Bee Shack and is a full time multimedia artist. Daina is also preparing a home for her own honeybees and enjoys historical reenactment and -you guessed it- playing music.
